Paris, France - A City of Diversity
Paris is the capital city of France. Built on an arc of the River Seine, it is divided into two parts: the Right Bank to the north and the smaller Left Bank to the south. Paris is a city full of annual events, with the busiest time being in the fall. The first event of the year is in January, and is an interior and decorative trade fair.
Paris is based on diverging bundles. This means that the wrong choice of a lane can put you in the wrong part of town with little chance to make a turn because everything is one-way. In Paris you will find one of the most famous landmarks in the world, the Eiffel Tower. You cannot come to Paris, and leave without seeing what 6.5 million people a year, and 200 million since its construction come to see. Paris is home to so many deferring styles of building: art deco, Medieval, Renaissance, and the work of Haussman who helped to develop the city into what it is today.
Paris is home to the headquarters of Orange, France Telecom's mobile operator, which is a major participant in the city, and named ‘Best Mobile Operator’ at the World Communication Awards 2006 for the second year running. Paris is home to three FORTUNE 500 Companies, and dozens of other companies. Paris is home to its IBM-France European headquarters and head office.
