St. Andrews, Scotland! A castle ruin, an abbey ruin, a famous beach (from Chariots of Fire), and easy access all along the eastern shore via train.

Choosing my favorite place to travel is like choosing my favorite child. But, I’ll have to say I did take a memorable extended vacation in Panama and loved it. The people are warm, the food is tasty (try carimanolas), and between outdoor beach adventure and downtown nightlife, I had a wonderful time. I recommend this oft overlooked country to Spanish-learners.

Before now, I have always like to travel where I can communicate. Therefore I love Latin America and Spain. Lately however, I have been wanting to travel to completely foreign destinations. Culturally foreign, linguistically foreign, cuisine, everything. I have a desire to get out of my comfort zone and and remember what it was to feel lost in a place and have to discover everything as new.

The answer varies by the mood I’m in when you ask me this! Always Ireland and Italy, but at the moment, the Greek Islands sounds like where I’d like to be.

Only foreign country I’ve traveled to is Japan (used to live their too), but I’d like to try a new country when I get enough savings. Mexico is close and I know some Spanish…

I loved the antiquity and beauty I saw in Italy. Venice was most amazing, much bigger than I had imagined. I have not been anywhere else in Europe, but want to visit Spain and Ireland. I have always dreamed of Egypt, but unfortunately it seems I’ve missed my opportunity for this lifetime.

My favorite place that I’ve traveled was Kyoto, Japan. It is so beautiful, with ancient temples nestled into hillsides. Next I’d like to go to South America!

Anywhere in SouthEast Asia, but particularly Thailand. Love the city, but getting to the rural areas is best if you have time to relax and get to know the locals.

I love traveling to Haiti! The island is beautiful and the Haitian people are wonderful. They’ve always been accomodating everytime I’ve traveled there, and even since the earthquake.

I would like to immerse myself in pure, unadulterated oriental culture…. to see the Great Wall …. to visit the legendary Golden-roofed Forbidden City in Beijing….. to listen to the rythm of the classical Beijing Opera … and perharps sip a cup of herbal jasmine tea in the glow of a Chinese twiligth….
